Chateau Berthenon is located in Blaye, at the right bank area of Bordeaux in France.
Winery region which is hiller than the Medoc, is rising to a height of over
70m above the sea level.
The subsoil is mostly composed by clay over limestone.
The "terrior" of the chateau I highly influenced by the oceanic climate which
allows our grapes to reach their optimum ripeness.

Château Berthenon came into the PLANTEUR/PONZ family in 1953 when
Paul Planteur (the grandfather) purchased this virtually abandoned
property. He soon passed the estate on to his daughter,(Léa and Henri)
who renovated and brought the property back to life.
Since 1999 it is the third generation (Thérèse and Thierry)
that are taking their turn to oversee the future of the property.
Château Berthenon currently covers 32 Ha and produces an average of 1800 Hl of wine each year.
They produce Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée wines (1ères Côtes de Blaye and Bordeaux).
Winemaking, ageing, bottling and labeling all take place at the château respecting traditional
techniques and using the latest innovations where appropriate.

整個生產過程由釀造、陳釀、裝瓶至貼標都在酒莊內進行,確保整瓶的品質。
